Warning : “Zero Day Exploit” (a.k.a. PrintNightmare)
A “Zero Day Exploit” (a.k.a. PrintNightmare) has been found, allowing all Windows computers – servers and workstations – to be exploitable.

All computers have the ability to share printers and are therefore at risk. Print sharing is turned on by default, even if you are not sharing your printers.

Disabling network printing is not always a viable option to mitigate this exploit since many people actually use shared/network printers.

Clicking on an infected link or attachment may allow computers to be infected with ransomware and/or spyware, which can result in the loss of data/information via this vulnerability.

There is no fix from Microsoft at the moment (July 2, 2021)
We will keep you updated, as we learn more.

Also you may have heard of ransomware attacks on Canadian companies though a software program called Kasaye.

Kasaye is a program used by some IT firms to support their clients. This program was used by hackers to implant ransomware on some of the clients of IT firms using this software.
We at BSWI do not use this software. Our software is also protected via MFA and other means.

If you have any questions or require a consultation as to your software usage, please feel free to reach out to us, we are here to help.
